Rissoles are delicious, savory, and versatile little patties that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, a snack, or even a main course. These crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside rissoles are packed with flavors and make for a perfect addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or pork (or a combination of both)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Mix well to distribute the ingredients evenly.
- In a separate bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes until they soften. Squeeze out excess milk from the breadcrumbs, then add them to the meat mixture.
- Beat the egg and add it to the bowl along with the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
- With clean hands, take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a round or oval patty, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Repeat this process with the remaining mixture, placing the formed rissoles on a tray or plate.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. You'll need enough oil to cover the rissoles halfway. To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of the mixture into the oil; it should sizzle and bubble.
- Carefully place the rissoles into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the rissoles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve your delicious rissoles hot with your choice of dipping sauce or enjoy them as a side dish, snack, or main course. These savory delights are sure to be a hit at your table!
