Rissoles: Crispy Delights!

Rissoles are delicious, savory, and versatile little patties that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, a snack, or even a main course. These crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside rissoles are packed with flavors and make for a perfect addition to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork (or a combination of both)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Mix well to distribute the ingredients evenly.
  2. In a separate bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes until they soften. Squeeze out excess milk from the breadcrumbs, then add them to the meat mixture.
  3. Beat the egg and add it to the bowl along with the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. With clean hands, take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a round or oval patty, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Repeat this process with the remaining mixture, placing the formed rissoles on a tray or plate.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. You'll need enough oil to cover the rissoles halfway. To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of the mixture into the oil; it should sizzle and bubble.
  6. Carefully place the rissoles into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the rissoles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  8. Serve your delicious rissoles hot with your choice of dipping sauce or enjoy them as a side dish, snack, or main course. These savory delights are sure to be a hit at your table!
